Students have three options for math tutoring assistance. Drop-in tutoring (no appointment needed) is available Monday through Friday ; please see the schedule below for the days and times. Tutors will divide their time among all of the students seeking help during drop-in hours. Drop-in tutoring is best for the student who has a small number of quick questions.
A second option for students is to schedule an appointment will a math tutor. Students must fill out and submit a tutor request form to the Learning Center Coordinator and a tutor will be assigned to the student. Appointments will be scheduled at a time that the student and tutor agree upon. All appointments will take place on campus. Requesting a tutor is a commitment. Students are expected to meet with their tutor, at a minimum, for an hour on a weekly basis for the remainder of the semester. This approach is best for the student who anticipates the need for ongoing support in order to keep up or stay ahead of their math class.
In addition to on-campus tutoring, online math tutoring is available through SMARTHINKING 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year. For more information regarding online tutoring, visit the Penn State Lehigh Valley SMARTHINKING website. Online tutoring is best for the student who may not be available to attend on-campus tutoring due to their schedules.
Students are strongly encouraged to utilize tutoring services and Learning Center resources on a consistent basis. Take home exams are not permitted in the Learning Center. For additional information, please stop by the Learning Center in room 211 or email email@example.com.
