Honors students to present Rome video memoirs

4/17/2013 —

Students in Dr. Barbara Cantalupo’s comparative literature course are scheduled to present video memoirs of their trip to Rome, Italy, in Penn State Lehigh Valley's auditorium at 1 p.m. on Apr. 19 and 1 p.m. on Apr. 22. This event is free and open to the public. Cannoli will be served.

Students used their studies of Italian filmmakers such as Federico Fellini, Vittorio de Sica, and Woody Allen to help create their films. The course required the students to read Robert Hughes' memoir, "Rome," as an example for their own memoirs. The students traveled to Rome during their spring break which occurred from Feb. 28-March 7.

During the presentations, audience members are asked to give feedback on each video. One student will be chosen as a winner based on audience feedback.

The following students will present at the first showing this Friday: Desiree Ayala-Perez, Fanny Torres, Austin Crain, Robyn Barebo, Darshan Shah, Maria Ortiz, and Rita DiBenedetto.

The following students will present at the second showing on Monday: Blake Kearney, Jenna Mason, Matthew Schleicher, Karl Santy, Shelby Karr, Gage Blazinski, and Megan Marzella.
