Campus film club takes second place at contest

4/21/2010 —

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Film Club took second place at the Severed Sinema Short Film Contest held on Friday, April 16, at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA. The film, "Follow the Leader," is the first project produced by the club.

"I am extremely proud of our club as this was our first film and it was the only film shot specifically for the contest," said Jim Clauser, instructor at Penn State Lehigh Valley and adviser to the film club. "The film was one of about 10 entries and many of them were professionally shot shorts."

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Film Club has been in existence since spring 2008. "Follow the Leader" was directed by Clauser and features students Nicholas Lumsden, Kevin Steckel, and David Amerman. It was shot and edited by Matthew Moore with additional work on the credit sequence by Mark Trusz. Eugene Toner served as production assistant.

The Severed Sinema is a monthly horror-related film festival held at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA. The April 16 event was the group's first ever short film night, and winners were chosen by the audience.
