The series will kick-off on September 18, with Penn State alumnus H. Scott Everett, stewardship and trail manager for the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, Inc. Everett will share the highlights of the trail including events, museums, hiking trails, camping, fishing, and other available activities. In his role, Everett is responsible for the planning and the continuing construction of the 165-mile-long Delaware and Lehigh Trail. When complete, the trail will connect Wilkes-Barre (Luzerne County) to Bristol (Bucks County). He is also a long-time volunteer for the Ironton Rail.

The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is a joint effort of private groups and interested citizens, county and municipal governments, the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the federal government to conserve cultural and natural resources in the five-county region of Pennsylvania that traverses old railroad beds and the historic Delaware and Lehigh Canals. The Delaware & Lehigh was designated by Congress in 1988 with a mission to restore historic places, conserve green space for public use, and preserve and interpret our heritage to enhance life for generations to come.

The cost of the four-part series is $45. The event is open to adults age 55+, but reservations are required.  To reserve a space, contact Carol Buddock at (610)285-5058 or email cab5@psu.edu.  The Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center is located at 100 Brodhead Road, Suite 120, Bethlehem, PA, 18017.
