Space still available for City Lights at the United Nations
The Penn State Alumni Association and Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society will gather at the United Nations in New York City on Thursday, May 14, for an after-work reception, optional tour, and lecture by Tiyanjana Maluwa, the director of the Penn State School of International Affairs, associate dean at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law, and the H. Laddie Montague Chair in Law. Maluwa will discuss the challenges facing the United Nations today. In addition, Ana Figueroa, assistant professor of Spanish at Penn State Lehigh Valley, will briefly address the effects of globalization on gender equity.
Registration at the United Nations begins at 4:45pm. The optional U.N. tour begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by a heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, and cheese reception.
Pre-registration and payment for this event is required. In cooperation with the Penn State Alumni Association, all alumni and guests must register online at www.alumni.psu.edu/events, or call 800-548-LION. The cost for the event is $50/Alumni Association member and $64/non-members (a member’s guest may attend at the member rate). Bus transportation, which leaves at 1 p.m. from the campus in Fogelsville, is $10/person.
