Adult students working as a group in class

Continuing Education and Outreach has many faces...

Are you planning for career advancement? We offer certificate programs to increase your skills, or an associate degree which can also serve as a first step on the ladder to a four-year degree. Or, continuing education can open new doors with an undergraduate degree or graduate course.

We understand that adults' time and professional needs are different from those of traditional students, and we are committed to making Penn State an adult-friendly experience for returning students with:

    • instructors experienced with the learning styles of adults
    • a helpful and knowledgeable advising team
    • evening classes
    • evening office hours
To companies, we offer customized training programs in management and leadership skills or human resources.

In our summer programs, K-12 students learn science, writing, and other subjects through hands-on activities. With our community partners, we offer inner-city kids of all ages a wide variety of educational and career exploration opportunities.

Our campus also serves those seeking personal enrichment through the Arts Project, SAGE (Senior Adults Gaining Enrichment), and our 6@7 community lecture series.

With programs for students of all ages and organizations large and small, we are Penn State, making life better.
