Are We Headed Toward the Sixth Extinction? A Study in Biodiversity and Survival

Presented by Dr. Karen Kackley Dutt, Instructor in Biology

Program Description

Unlike past mass extinctions, caused by events like asteroid strikes, volcanic eruptions, and natural climate shifts, the current crisis is almost entirely caused by us — humans.

This five-week series will uncover the impact of habitat loss and global climate disruption, explore and collect samples from our local environment and use Penn State biology lab to dig deeper into the changing world around us.

Schedule and Cost

Lectures will be held from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on the following Wednesday evenings:
September 7, 2016 through October 12, 2016 (Please note the change in dates)

Cost: $59 per person, $89 for two people of the same household
